Currently, we are studying the Protestant Reformation and Counter Reformation in history. We have learned how Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press invention changed the world and why. Stained glass is discussed when studying this time period because besides being a window stained glass had a very important purpose…it told Bible stories. Much of the population was illiterate and this was a way to communicate these stories to the population. The kids found outlines of stained glass windows they liked on line. We then used sheets of Shrinky Dink paper to trace them and color them with sharpie markers. These also make beautiful ornaments for the holidays.
