Did you ever make a gingerbread house out of graham crackers and a milk carton when you were little? You use that same concept except this time it is a tasty treat for your neighborhood birds. All you need is a small box, graham crackers, peanut butter, a butter knife, and an assortment of different types of bird seed. All you do is spread peanut butter all over your box and cover the box in graham crackers. Next you spread peanut butter on the outside of the graham crackers and decorate by pressing the assorted seed into the peanut butter. Children will delight watching their bird house devoured by the birds in your area. Having either an audobon bird field guide or a chart of local birds is a wonderful way for kids to identify and familiarize themselves with the birds in your area.
