We visited the Hippodrome Theatre in Gainesville, Florida. One of the things I love about the Hippodrome is the creativity you see with the costumes and scenery. For example, they made the mermaids tails out of dustpans, and shields out of garbage can lids and pasta. Many of the kids came up to me after the play and commented how they were inspired by the creative use of everyday objects. For those not familiar with the play it is the story of Peter Pan before Neverland. It is great for older elementary school children and up. If you are in Central Florida this makes a fun field trip.
