This is a great, easy to make treat that kids and adults will enjoy.
To make roughly 48 cake pops you will need:
4 packs of cake pop sticks (they come 12 to a bag)
6 bags of candy melts (we used 3 blue, and 3 red)
4 small spools of ribbon
red, white, and blue sprinkles
First, make two boxes of cake according to package directions.
Once the cakes of cooled, mix them with one container of icing until they are crumbly and can form a ball the size of a ping pong ball.
Form mixture into ping pong sized balls. Let them sit in the refrigerator until firm. I usually make this a two day process and let them sit in the fridge over night.
Now it is time to melt the candy melts. I usually do this in the microwave. Be sure to follow the package directions for best results.
Now it’s time for the fun part. First, you dip the stick into the candy melt. Then you press it gently into the cake ball. Lastly you dip them in the candy melt and sprinkle the sprinkles on the wet candy melt.
Last, but not least I tied ribbon on each of the cake pops.
